Open the thunderbird path. You can use Windows Key + R then write “%appdata%\Thunderbird”.

Then click “OK“.

Inside the file path, open the “Profile“ folder.

Then select and copy the folder where all your data from thunderbird is stored.

Paste it in your selected folder.

After copying the thunderbird folder to your selected folder. Right Click on it then Compressed (Zipped) it.

After compressing the file, you may upload it (zipped file) to the cloud storage.


To restore your backup file open the Thunderbird App.

Then select Menu > Tools > Import

Click Import then follow these steps.

Step 1: Select import tool.

Import Tool > Import for a file then press Continue

Step 2: Import from a file

Select “Import Backed-up Profile“ then press Continue

Step 3: Import from a Thunderbird Profile

Select “Choose a profile folder“ then press Continue

Select your backed-up file/folder.

Make sure to unzipped your backed-up folder.

Step 4:

Press Continue.

Step 5:

Press Start Import.

Thunderbird will need to be restarted when importing is complete.

After importing the backed-up files. Press Finish
